privacy policy

effective July 17, 2026 · said by you is operated by Jared Amen · hello@saidbyou.com

the short version

We collect what the product needs to work and nothing more. Your API keys and platform tokens are stored encrypted. We do not sell your data, we do not run ad trackers, and your words stay yours.

what we collect

Account: your name, email, and a hashed password (authentication is handled by our auth system; we never store your password in plain text).

Connections you make: the X account authorization (OAuth tokens) and any API keys you add (for example an Anthropic key). Both are stored encrypted at rest and used only to operate the product for you.

Your content: the posts, drafts, edits, and voice materials you create or upload — used to draft in your voice and to learn from the difference between what was proposed and what you actually posted.

Operational data: product usage logs (for example API-cost accounting per action) and payment records. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.

what we never do

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site trackers. We do not post, reply, like, or follow on your behalf without your explicit action.

who processes data for us

We run on a small set of infrastructure providers: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments), the Anthropic API (drafting — via the key you provide), and the X API (reading your posts and publishing the ones you approve). Each receives only what its role requires.

cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. That's it — no advertising or analytics cookies from third parties.

retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. Email hello@saidbyou.com to request deletion of your account and its data; disconnecting X or removing an API key deletes the associated tokens from active use.

security

Sensitive credentials (OAuth tokens, API keys) are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the operator. If a breach affecting your data ever occurs, we will notify you promptly and plainly.

changes and contact

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the effective date. Questions or requests: hello@saidbyou.com.
